Application Timeline for 2025-2026 School Year

  • Phase 1: Open Application (Opening November 15, 2024)

École Saint-Landry will accept applications for Kindergarten and 1st Grade children who do not speak French and for 2nd-grade students with equivalent French proficiency to his/her peers.

The window to apply will open on November 15, 2024, and close on January 1, 2025, at 5:00 PM.

Please read phase 2 information to learn what happens next.

  • Phase 2a: Lottery (First week of January 2025 if necessary)

If more students apply than there are seats available, we will conduct an enrollment lottery after the January 1, 2025 deadline. If there are still spaces available they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants will be selected by random computer drawing for available seats.  Applicants not selected will be placed on a numbered waiting list. Note: younger siblings of current students, children of employees, and students of parents who are French speakers get priority entry to the school upon application.

  • Phase 2b: Open Enrollment

École Saint-Landry is seeking to fill 60 new kindergarten and 15 new 1st-grade seats. If fewer than those totals have applied by 5:00 PM on January 1, 2025, all students who have applied will be granted admission to the school.

Any students who apply after January 1, 2025, at 5:00 PM will be admitted to the school on a first-come, first-served basis until all seats are filled. Those who apply after all seats are full will be placed on a numbered waiting list.

Children do not need a physical to be accepted into École Saint-Landry. Unless you have decided to complete the vaccination exemption form (see below), we will need your child’s shot records as part of the enrollment packet.

  • Who gets preference in the case of an admissions lottery?

Preference is given to younger siblings of current students and to children of French-speaking families, provided the latter pass an OPI (oral proficiency interview) to prove that they have an age-appropriate grasp of the French language. If they do, they’ll be given lottery priority.

  • Can I transfer my child from another school to École Saint-Landry?

Once school begins, new students are granted admission (if seats are available) on a case by case basis.

You may transfer your child from a non-French immersion school to École Saint-Landry in Kindergarten or 1st grade during open admission.

Please contact us if you're seeking a transfer in grades 2+ so we can let you know of additional requirements for entry.

In the case of a lottery, transfer students from French immersion schools or students from French-speaking families are given preference.
