Our lottery priority window for the 2025-2026 school year will open on November 15, 2024, and will close on January 1, 2025.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year enrollment lottery will be accepted online, starting November 15, 2024, through January 1, 2025. After this time, we will accept students on a first-come, first-served basis until all spots are filled.

École Saint-Landry will open applications for the 2025-2026 academic year on November 15, 2024. Families living in St. Landry Parish with children entering Kindergarten or 1st grade are eligible to apply. We will be seeking to fill 60 new Kindergarten seats and a dozen 1st-grade seats.
There are no French language proficiency requirements for students applying for Kindergarten and first-grade seats. Please contact us if you're seeking a transfer in grades 2+ so we can let you know of additional requirements for entry.
École Saint-Landry will accept applications for Kindergarten and 1st Grade children who do not speak French and for 2nd-grade students with equivalent French proficiency to his/her peers.

If more students apply than there are seats available, we will conduct an enrollment lottery after the January 1, 2025 deadline. If there are still spaces available they will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicants will be selected by random computer drawing for available seats. Applicants not selected will be placed on a numbered waiting list. Note: younger siblings of current students, children of employees, and students of parents who are French speakers get priority entry to the school upon application.
École Saint-Landry is seeking to fill 60 new kindergarten and 15 new 1st-grade seats. If fewer than those totals have applied by 5:00 PM on January 1, 2025, all students who have applied will be granted admission to the school.
Any students who apply after January 1, 2025, at 5:00 PM will be admitted to the school on a first-come, first-served basis until all seats are filled. Those who apply after all seats are full will be placed on a numbered waiting list.

Students that were homeschooled prior to attending École Saint-Landry will be given a test to determine their grade level.
Kindergarten and 1st-grade students do not need to take any French proficiency tests to get into École Saint-Landry. Second-grade transfer students must pass a French oral proficiency test.

In the case of a lottery for limited remaining places, preference (automatic entry) is given to younger siblings of current students and to children of French-speaking families, provided the latter pass an OPI to prove that they have an age-appropriate grasp of the French language.
Students must be 5 years old by September 30 to start kindergarten.
Children do not need a physical to be accepted into École Saint-Landry. Unless you have decided to complete the vaccination exemption form (see below), we will need your child’s shot records as part of the enrollment packet.
If you have chosen not to vaccinate your child, please complete the vaccination exemption form on the Louisiana Department of Education website. As of November 2023, school-aged children are NOT required to have the COVID-19 vaccine to attend school.
Preference is given to younger siblings of current students and to children of French-speaking families, provided the latter pass an OPI (oral proficiency interview) to prove that they have an age-appropriate grasp of the French language. If they do, they’ll be given lottery priority.
Once school begins, new students are granted admission (if seats are available) on a case by case basis.
You may transfer your child from a non-French immersion school to École Saint-Landry in Kindergarten or 1st grade during open admission.
